On November 5th and 6th, the two-day MetSuperCap midterm meeting took place at VSL, the Dutch NMI.
The meeting concluded, providing an opportunity to review progress and discuss upcoming work.
The first project phase focused on developing and validating measurement setups for supercapacitor characterization. With these now operational, data collection is increasing, and the results database will be made publicly available in the coming months.
Current work addresses key metrological questions:
- Accuracy and definition of series resistance and capacitance measurements.
- Characterization of leakage current.
- Identification of equivalent circuit models for different supercapacitor sizes
- Accurate implementation of electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
- Feasibility of laboratory (round-robin) comparisons
Detailed results and analyses will be shared in 2026 though conferences, workshops and journal papers. Stay tuned!
