The Energy Storage Workshop, organized by ENEA(Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development) in collaboration with University of Rome Sapienza, held from 5 to 6 November 2025, in Rome. The event brought together leading researchers, industry experts, and innovators to discuss the rapidly evolving landscape of energy storage technologies and we had the pleasure of being invited by the scientific committee of the workshop to present the MetSuperCap project to the audience.
The workshop provided an excellent platform to exchange knowledge on cutting-edge advancements in Supercapacitors, SMES (Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage), Big science and fusion, Long-Duration Energy storage (LDES), Thermal Energy Storage (TES), Smart grids, and Transportation. The presentations highlighted both current challenges and the technological opportunities shaping the future.
In our presentation, held by Dr. Melika Hassanzadeh, we outlined the project objectives and shared the first results achieved especially by INRIM—from parameter-identification methods to the assessment of repeatability and measurement uncertainty. We concluded by presenting the activities planned for the coming months. Our contribution attracted strong interest from both academic and industrial participants including SC manufacturers, opening new perspectives for future collaborations.
